PICAPOOL – REMOTE INTERNSHIP

UI/UX DESIGNER – EARLY TEAM MEMBER

I joined Picapool as one of the first UI/UX designers on the team, working remotely with the founders and developers of the startup. My role was to design and refine different user flows and app screens, ensuring smooth and intuitive interactions for the product. Alongside the app, I also worked on the company’s website, focusing on clear communication of the product vision and responsive layouts.

Due to NDA, I cannot share the actual designs, but my contributions included:

  • Creating user flows and interaction patterns for core journeys.

  • Designing mobile app screens from wireframes to high-fidelity UI.

  • Building the company website with a focus on usability and responsiveness.

  • Collaborating closely with developers for handoffs and iterations.

PROBLEM

Picapool is a pooling app that helps people find like-minded users nearby to share rides, pool things, or make friends. When I joined, Company wanted to improve the app flows and make the overall experience better, so I got hired as one of the first UI/UX designers on the team.

CONTRIBUTION

Designed the initial app screens and flows that helped establish the product experience from the ground up.

  • Created user journeys and interaction patterns to make navigation intuitive.

  • Designed and iterated responsive website layouts to communicate the product vision.

  • Worked closely with developers to ensure smooth design-to-development handoff.

  • My design work contributed to the company achieving 2000+ downloads on the App Store and Play Store during the early launch phase.

MY LEARNINGS FROM THE INTERNSHIP

How to design for a startup environment where speed and clarity are crucial.

  • The importance of iterating quickly based on feedback from both users and team members.

  • Gained confidence in balancing business goals, user needs, and technical feasibility.

  • Learned to take ownership of end-to-end design from wireframes to polished UI.

Note: Due to NDA, the specific designs are confidential.

THANK YOU FOR YOUE VALUABLE TIME :)
